How to Make Melonpan (Melon Pan / Melon Bread Recipe) | Cooking with Dog
Melonpan are Japanese sweet buns covered with a thin layer of cookie dough. They take many steps to make but freshly-baked Melonpan are scrumptious!
How to Make Melonpan
(5 pieces)
- Bread Dough -
140g Bread Flour ( oz)
25g Johakuto or Powdered Sugar ( oz)
1/3 tsp Salt
5g Non-Fat Dry Milk Powder ( oz)
3g Instant Yeast ( oz) - a little less than 1 tsp
1 tbsp Beaten Egg
70ml Warm Water ( fl oz)
15g Butter ( oz)
Bread Flour for dusting
- Cookie Dough -
25g Unsalted Butter ( oz)
35g Johakuto or Powdered Sugar ( oz)
25g Beaten Egg ( oz)
80g Cake/Pastry Flour ( oz)
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
Granulated Sugar for glazing
Bread Flour for dusting
