Prairie Organic Vegetable Production Online Mini Conference 2023

Mini-Conference Schedule of Sessions Welcome & Introductions High Tunnels May be Used for High Quality and Yield Organic Vegetable Production in the Prairie High tunnels have been used for organic fruit and vegetable production in many different regions, with success in Asia, the Mediterranean and the USA; however, there was a lack of research data and recommendations for cold climates such as Canada. To provide the scientific information and guidance necessary for organic growers to take advantage of this technology in cold regions, a multi-year research project was conducted at the University of Guelph. This talk will present some of the research results and the lessons learned from this project. It will also discuss the potential applications of using high tunnels in organic vegetable production based on the speaker’s experience.
