Drunken Woman with an Attitude Calls the Officer an Idiot after DWI Arrest

Around 2:42 AM on December 9, 2022, Secaucus Police Officer Jason Mitchell noticed a 2022 Kia being driven erratically at a high rate of speed exceeding 90 MPH. Officer Mitchell was eventually able to close the gap with this vehicle and proceeded to activate his lights and siren to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle continued to move for about 2 miles before finally stopping on the right shoulder of Route 3 westbound. The driver, later identified as 25-year-old Karina Tejada, admitted to consuming alcohol earlier that night. Based on his suspicion of intoxication, Officer Mitchell radioed for Officer Masullo to come and administer field sobriety tests. Officer Masullo initially administered the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test, where he observed a lack of smooth pursuit in both eyes, distinct and sustained Nystagmus, a maximum deviation in both eyes, and onset of Nystagmus prior to 45 degrees. The second exercise was the Walk and Turn test. During this test, Tejada never once touched heel-to-toe, she did not count out loud, and failed to turn properly. The final exercise was the One Leg Stand test. Since she had to utilize her arms to maintain her balance and nearly fell over, the test was terminated for her safety. Based on her erratic driving, inability to follow instructions, incoherent speech, lack of balance, and admission to drinking alcohol earlier, Officer Mitchell placed Tejada under arrest for driving under the influence. When she was brought to the station, Tejada was belligerent towards the officers and refused to take a breathalyzer test. After Tejada was processed, she was subsequently released to her mother after she signed the Potential Liability Warning form on her behalf. She was eventually released with the following citations: Operating under the influence, refusal to provide breath samples, consent to take samples of breath, and careless driving ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and consider making a donation to support this channel on Venmo (drive-thru-tours).
