Terrified shoppers flee Sydney knife attacker as cops confirm death toll & reveal killer details

New South Wales police believe Sydney knife attack is not terror related, Commissioner Karen Webb said in a briefing on Saturday (April 13). Officials suspect a 40-year-old man to be responsible for the incident which killed six people but they will wait to conduct a full investigation before confirming the identity, they said. Five people have died after a rampaging knifeman stabbed terrified shoppers as they tried to flee a busy mall in Sydney. Witnesses told how they saw the knifeman stab five shoppers including a mum and her nine-month-old baby this afternoon.
