When I watch Nolan’s videos, his selection of tricks reminds me of what I was always trying to achieve when making my own videos. The difference is that I was ‘trying to’ achieve, and Nolan has ‘actually’ achieved. He’s got full-whips dialed, and 360 combos on boost mode (I could rarely take the full-whips beyond the trampoline scooter). I‘ve hucked myself down the infamous Davis Gap hundreds of times… in my imagination. Nolan Shoemaker truckdrivered the gap in real life… REAL LIFE… with his own skin ‘n’ bones. It’s hard for me to elaborate on this, but I think Nolan has beautifully blended the best things about ‘old school’ riding with the splendor of current riding trends.
