Pettuleipä Finnish PINE BARK Bread Recipe | HARD TIMES -- recipes from times of hardship
Pettuleipä, or pine bark bread, was made in Finland during times of famine. To make it, the inner bark of pine trees would be harvested, dried, and ground into a kind of flour, then added to bread recipes to stretch out the precious wheat flour. HUGE thanks to Lovely Anna for suggesting this recipe and for sending me the difficult-to-find pine bark flour. 🙏 New videos every Thursday and Saturday 8 pm EST.
