Bulgaria: Troops deployed to Greek border to control refugee flow

Bulgaria conducted military drills near the Kulata-Promachon checkpoint along the country’s border with Greece on Saturday. Dubbed ’Border 2016’, the excercises were held across several towns along the southwestern border. Staged jointly by the military and police forces along with representaitves from the Red Cross, the drills aim to coordinate the activities of the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Defense, in order to control the flow of refugees and migrants.
