E. Magalif-V. Tatarinov BABA YAGA [A humorous pop song]

I found a video of my humorous pop song from the 1980s, for which the National TV of Belarus filmed one of its first video clips. The song with lyrics by Vitaly Tatarinov is called Baba Yaga and was filmed in the forest near my house in the suburbs of Minsk. Baba Yaga is a fairy-tale character, an old woman who lives in a house on chicken legs, flies with a broom in a mortar and loves to catch and fry children in the oven. In my song, a pioneer (scout) squad gets lost in the forest and is afraid of everything around them. In response to all their fears and questions, Baba Yaga’s voice is heard “Ahhaaa“ (approximately “Oh, yeah“). When they finally come out of the forest and say that Baba Yaga can only be found in movies, Baba Yaga says her “Oh yeah“ and pushes a minivan with pioneers to the cemetery.
