Footage from one of the 13 observed sections of the 200 or so miles of the 96th Landsend Trial. This event was first held in the 1910’s and each Easter since, just stopping for the war years. The format remains mostly the same, no 4x4, and summer tyres only.
It may appear to some that people are out “wrecking“ classic cars, but this is not the case. Older cars are better suited for this type of event as they are lighter with good ground clearance. Cars that would have been bought for peanuts many decades ago when most considered them old bangers, are still lovingly cared for and are still competing and winning on a regular basis. Some years you may be lucky and see original works MGs or Allards, still doing what they were built for, some knocking on 100 years later.
