’Tyrant Trudeau’: Canada PM criticised over bid to disperse ’Freedom Convoy’ truckers

Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been accused of “acting like a tyrant” after he invoked the Emergencies Act in response to the ‘Freedom Convoy’ protests in downtown Ottawa. The act, which was passed in 1988 but has never been used, gives police sweeping powers. It allows the federal government to ban public gatherings in certain locations and to remove people and property.
