Tailless Puffer Eats Chicken

I ran across this handicapable checkered puffer (Sphoeroides testudineus) while filming some local wildlife. The poor guy had his tail completely bitten off by someone. It didn’t stop him from moving around at all. He managed to take some chucks out of my grilled chicken)) Sphoeroides testudineus is a brackish water puffer native to South Florida. They can grow to about 7-12 inches long. They make pretty good aquarium fish, not sure why they aren’t popular in the hobby. Unlike the green spotted puff
