At 15 years old, Tan Wei Tian already has a prolific 12 year opera career behind her. By day, she’s your average high school student, balancing schoolwork and friends; by night, she’s belting out ancient operatic tunes as one of Teochew opera’s youngest performers. The teenager is taking on one of Singapore’s oldest and rarest operatic forms, and raising her voice to keep the disappearing art alive for the next generation.
