Independence Creek - Deering

Independence Creek(2AK9) is a small and rural, privately owned airstrip, right in the confluence of Independence Creek and Holtz Creek. Watch out for the elevated runway and the hills close by. Permission required prior to landing. Deering Airport (PADE) is a small, state-owned public-use airport located on the Seward Peninsula, two nautical miles (3.7 km) southwest of Deering, near the mouth of the Inmachuk River. Deering was established in 1901 as a supply station for gold mining.
