Sophie Stephenson Step Dancing in Donostia - San Sebastian (TOSTA PROJECT)

Sophie is a dancer from Fort Augustus in the Scottish Highlands. Sophie specialises in a close to the floor style of percussive step dance which has origins in Scotland, although the tradition was carried forward by Scottish emigrant communities in Eastern Canada. This video is part of research towards a dance film project for TOSTA 2016. TOSTA is a pan-European initiative uniting partner organisations from minority cultures around the Atlantic seaboard. The artist exchange programme aims to promote the creativity and diversity of smaller-language cultures across Europe whilst stimulating intercultural dialogue.
