Storm Agnes hits the United Kingdom and Ireland! Monstrous wind and huge waves!

On September 27, Storm Agnes hit the United Kingdom and Ireland. This is the first named storm of the year. A yellow warning for “strong and potentially damaging“ winds was in effect for the west side of the UK. A rainfall warning was in effect in parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Wind gusts reached speeds of 130 km/h. Large waves were recorded in coastal areas. The storm damaged buildings, caused power outages and made travel difficult. There were no reports of casualties.
