#67 CC-115 (DHC 5) Buffalo 2011-03-07

On a beautiful late-Winter day, a crew from 442 Search and Rescue Squadron based at 19 Wing/CFB Comox, hone their skills with practice at CYPK, Pitt Meadows Regional Airport. Flying an aging CC-115 Buffalo (DeHavilland Canada DHC5), kept in good shape by the ’Boys’ back in Comox, the only thing they didn’t do was show-off the remarkable STOL take-off ability of “Military 465“. Or do they even use that moniker anymore? Arguably the best fixed-wing search aircraft ever built, there is nothing like being “in the window“ at 500’ AGL in the mountains of BC, working with the best in the business.
