Poland flexes military power in biggest parade since Cold War

In its biggest parade since the Cold War, Poland flexed its military muscles in its capital city on Tuesday, celebrating the anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw, which Poland won in 1920. The military procession also served as not just a message to Polish residents who are set to vote this October, but Russia, too, amid their war with Ukraine — one of Poland’s bordering countries. Wagner Group mercenaries have been training in Belarus near its border with Poland, stirring concern and panic among Poland’s government, military and residents. In response, Poland has stationed thousands of troops by the Poland-Belarus border, and as of Thursday, plans to send up to 10,000 more, according to military officials.
