“Scootaboat Polo“ (1932)

Full title reads: “Felixstowe. ’Scootaboat Polo’ is going to be ’all the rage’ for the holidays this year.“ Felixstowe, Suffolk. A number of small two man boats are on a small covered pool. A crowd is watching from the side. The boats are connected to wires in the roof like dodgem cars. A man standing in the water throws a ball into the pool and the boats move in to chase it. The players try to push the ball into goals at either end of the pool. Lots of splashing ensues. Two of the girls, in their eagerness to get the ball, fall out of their boat and into the water. The same thing happens again. The pool is quite shallow and the wet girls can stand up. A sign in the background reads “New Amusement Park Felixstowe - Butlins“. Some of the men wear jumpers which appear to have Butlins written on the back. One of the boats driven by two women knocks over one of the goals. Lots of laughter is heard from all concerned.
