ADORAMUS TE DOMINE WE ADORE THEE O LORD

A meditation on Christian adoration of the Lord, through faith and good works in prayer, scripture, love of neighbour and the sacraments; especially adoration of Christ and Christ’s presence in the Blessed Sacrament of His Body and Blood given to us through the Eucharist. Included are those who live the consecrated life as Religious, contemplative and active; whose prayers for us all in season and out of season and whose devoted ministering helps to bring healing and hope to the poor, the sick and suffering. Then, of course, are the priests of the Church whose ministry of the sacraments invites our thoughtful participation in living with Christ. The chant is ’Adoration te, Domine’ by the community of Taizé whose source is both the prayer for the Liturgy of Good Friday but also in the prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi: ADORAMUS te, sanctissime Domine Iesu Christe, hic et ad omnes Ecclesias tuas, quae sunt in toto mundo, et benedicimus tibi; quia per sanctam Crucem tuam redemisti mundum. Amen. WE ADORE Thee, most holy Lord Jesus Christ, here and in all Thy churches that are in the whole world, and we bless Thee; because by Thy Holy Cross Thou hast redeemed the World. Amen.
