Kyoko Tsutsui | War Machine Online Noise Festival 2020 #3

Born 1978 in Akita, raised in Nagoya, Japan, Kyoko Tsutsui started going to eurhythmics class at age 2 to learn rhythm, structure, and musical expression through movement. She started playing electronic organ and piano at age 3. When she was a student, she started playing guitar and bass in several bands and also composing music. 2003 - 2006, she joined asana as a synthesizer player. In 2007, she formed the band NARCO (an improvisation duo inspired by Brazilian music). She has performed with artists including Moreno Veloso, Florencia Ruiz, and Tomi Lebrero. In 2015, she began her daxophone studies with renowned guitarist and saxophonist, Kazuhisa Uchihashi. Then, she began playing solo. She has performed with musicians from around the world, including Roger Turner and Elliott Sharp. She has been organizing improvisation workshops, talk events and workshops for children on making musical instruments and playing music.
