Sacsayhuaman as You’ve NEVER Seen It Before: Excavation Reports and Chronicles | Ancient Architects

As many of you will know, Sacsayhuaman has been a strong area of research for me during the past few weeks and as I continue to dig deeper into this ancient enigma, the more I’m blown away. I didn’t really know how to title this video because each video is just more and more information about the same site and this one really gets into the detail. Sacsayhuaman is quickly becoming my very favourite ancient architectural wonder. There really is something about it that sets it apart from everything else I’ve seen. It’s apparently a religious-military construction, a site of water management, wells, springs, reservoirs and irrigation; it’s a site of incredible stonework and mindboggling feats of engineering, easily one of the most elaborate constructions in human history. The earliest Spaniards saw it as a fortress, mainly because of the huge walls that would have been seen as defensive to Europeans.
