Jon Gomm - What’s Left For You?

New album ’Live In The Acoustic Asylum’ out today. Pay What You Want song/album and Guitar Tab available here: Album on iTunes here: This song means a lot to me, so releasing it is terrifying, like a bird pushing her baby out of the nest and hoping it flies. Hope you like it. If you do, please tell somebody else about it. This is the third of nine new videos from the Live In The Acoustic Asylum sessions. CREDITS: I played the song on Wilma, my trusty Lowden guitar, fitted with Newtone Jon Gomm signature strings and Bill Keith banjo tuners, and tuned to A#FCFGC with a G7th Performance capo at the 4th fret. The sound is coming primarily from a Fishman Rare Earth Blend pickup. My vocal mic is a Sontronics STC-80. I used various effects pedals, mostly Boss. Video filmed by Owen Plummer and Danielle Millea, directed and edited by Owen Plummer. Audio engineered and produced by Ed Heaton (The Coal Room, Leeds) and Jon Gomm. Mastered by Tom at Hippocratic Mastering. LYRICS: On a train, the landscape is a rush-a grey, And tears are streaming down the window pain, I contemplate nothing Old man sits down and faces me, He’s got a smile, I think it’s aimed at me, He says “I know your problem,” “If music’s for dancing, And magic’s for the spellbound, And love is for lovers, What’s left for you?” I ask “What the hell’s that supposed to mean?” He says “Listen man, you’re the door now here’s the key, Just open up and you’re free,” “You wonder why you never understand, And everybody seems to have their masterplans, But you don’t know nothing” “If music’s for dancing, And magic’s for the spellbound, And love is for lovers, What’s left for you?” But his words they seemed like mockery, And nobody’s allowed to teach me, nobody can teach me nothing. __________________________________________________ Here’s all the awesome gear I use to create music.
