Authorities have declared the ’tornado’ as a waterspout, which trashed the city of Kiel as it made landfall on Wednesday. Members of a local rowing club were injured, three seriously, when they were thrown into the sea. Rescue services say it’s unclear how many of the tornado-like funnels touched down on shore, but report trees have been toppled and multiple homes damaged.
