Labour [Lion King AU Crossover] TW! (Read description)

(TW: domestic violence and abuse!) After nearly a month I have finally finished this project! And just in time before the end of women’s history month! This is an AU crossover where none of the characters from the original movies are related! I got inspired after listening to this song quite a few times to make this, as well as SaraChanLionwolf’s video she made a little while back based on this song. I know this isn’t really my best crossover but I tried—😅😅 Characters relations Mufasa: Nala’s Father, mate to Sarabi Sarabi: Nala’s Mother, mate to Mufasa Nala: Daughter of Mufasa and Sarabi, mate to Simba Simba: Random lion not related to Mufasa or Sarabi, mate to Nala Kiara: A hypothetical child Nala and Simba might have had Disclaimer! This crossover is not meant to be discriminatory or a generalization of how all men are! This is simply for the plot following the song’s meaning. It is not in any way meant to promote hate only awareness! Any hate comments will be reported and removed. Storyline In the Pridelands Mufasa comes to visit his wife Sarabi after she gives birth to their daughter Nala. He is displeased with the fact that the cub is not male and therefore he disowns Nala as his cub causing Sarabi to be heartbroken as her mate walks away leaving her alone with their daughter. As the months pass Mufasa only grows more resentful of his daughter. Sarabi tries her best to shield her cub from the wrath of her father, however Nala being a curious cub still tries to get her father’s attention. Mufasa retaliates wanting nothing to do with her. Sarabi chastises him for neglecting their daughter and when he starts being emotionally abusive Nala jumps in telling her father off for treating her mother like that. This enrages him and he raises his paw to strike her, but before he can Sarabi leaps to her cub’s defense and attacks her husband. They fight, but eventually Mufasa wins as he strikes Sarabi to the ground and then walks away warning Nala to stay out of his way or he’d do the same to her. Nala becomes afraid of her father.. and as soon as he’s gone she goes to check on her mother. Sarabi is a little hurt but is otherwise okay. She comforts her daughter as best as she can. She is ashamed of her husband for his behavior but even after he hit her she refuses to leave him as she is convinced herself this is just the way life is. Years later Nala is all grown up. She has since left the Pridelands to live on her own wanting to escape that life with her mother and abusive father. One day as she hunts, chasing her prey into the jungle, she runs into a young male lion who was also hunting. They fight and tumble for a moment before eventually Nala lands on top. When she realizes what’s happened she quickly gets off of him. The young lion introduces himself as Simba, but Nala is still a bit guarded not very trusting of him at first.. however as he begins flirting with her she begins to fall for his charm and the two of them fall in love. After some time of being together however Nala finds out that Simba has quite the temper and they often fight on many things, but mainly about what Nala’s place is as a woman. Simba says her place is to hunt and provide him an heir but Nala disagrees. And it’s at this point she realizes if she stays with him she will be following in her mother’s footsteps… and if she were to have a daughter, she would suffer the same fate she had… knowing this she decides to run away. So one night as Simba sleeps she runs off far away until she’s sure Simba won’t be able to track her. As she escapes she reflects on her life… how she nearly became just like her mother.. but yet she was able to break the cycle of abuse and escape. However even though she escaped a part of her feels empty and sad as she had thought Simba was the one for her, but she realized in the end that he was just as bad as her father and that by escaping him she broke that cycle and was able to be herself now.
