Catnapp - Armed (prod. by FFX & Catnapp)
Catnapp’s music video for “Armed“ uses boiled down visuals to further expand on the intimate vibe given by Catnapp’s voice and lyrics.
If you’re sick of musical comfort zones, heres a strong antidote. Catnapp is the guise of Argentinian artist Amparo Battaglia, the newest signing on Monkeytown Records. Doing her very own thing since many years, the Berlin based producer, singer/rapper and striking performer has (self-)released a couple of records full of boundless creativity and originality, taking whatever she needs from every electronic genre as well as pop and rap music. Her new EP, titled Fear, surely is her most focused and on point release yet, but still boasts an untamed DIY aesthetic on five tracks ranging from grim slowcore trap to bright-eyed futurist R&B. Amparo cites classic influences like The Prodigy, Aphex Twin, OutKast or Beyoncé, while her productions also draw from todays post-internet and post-rap sounds. In a recent interview she said this about her music: “On the one hand I just want people to enjoy a nice fat beat. On the other I also want them to receive the sensations Im trying to transmit. Love, sadness, anger. I want them to get inside my story and make it theirs.“
