Jozef Hrabina: Simultaneous containment of China and Russia resulted in US’ power overstretch

In the book Destined for War, American political scientist Graham Allison uses the term Thucydides Trap referring to a hypothesis that when one great power menaces another, war is almost always inevitable. The term is widely used in the context of U.S.- China relations. In the case of Washington and Beijing, the relative decline of America’s power and the rapid rise of China’s power destabilize their relationship.
