Yes, we know and enjoy Pertile’s various recordings of bits from Manon Lescaut, but this particular one is of curious interest not because of Pertile himself but because at the end of the scene, Apollo Granforte (a primo baritono of great renown even then) takes the comprimario “bass“ part of the Navy Commander!
