MAITREPIERRE proposes constructions that defy the usual norms and codes of clothing, with off-axis lines or collars that slide down sleeves, juxtaposed with soliflores that become dresses. Drapes and stripes swirl like vortexes, and joystick buttons become polka dots. Technological relics are transformed into garments: from TV dresses to gameboy tank tops and bags that look like old-school keyboard. Wiring, plugs, circuits and joysticks adorn the silhouettes of a wardrobe ideal for relaxing in front of your favorite TV series, whether in pyjamas, boxer shorts, joggings or XXL bathrobes. “LET’S PLAY” questions materiality and notions of 2D/3D spaces with humor. MAITREPIERRE invites you to imagine new dimensions and redefine our understanding of the world around us, where fantasy can meet reality. Alphonse MAITREPIERRE
