On June 9, 2012, in Greenville, SC, MP&ES unveiled a pair of F7 A units painted for the Galveston Railroad Museum in Texas. Hurricane Ike in September 2008 damaged the previous Texas Limited Nos 100 and 200 that had to be scrapped in June 2011. The new “Santa Fe“ pair are numbered 315 and 316.
The pair began as Southern Pacific 6443 and Texas & New Orleans 365, but were sold to Wellsville, Addison & Galeton in Pennsylvania in 1969. The units traded several hands over the next decades until they were donated to the Railroad Museum of New England in 2001. The Railroad Museum of New England sold the pair to the Galveston Railroad Museum ten years later.
