Dai Dower Wins Again! (1954)

Cardiff, Wales. LV start of fight. Belgian Alex Bollaert v Welshman Dai Dower. Bollaert with wide white stripe down trunks. CU both boxers exchange blows. Bollaert prominent with some fast hooking. SV Dower scores with left and right to the body and head. As Bollaert comes in close, Dower smothers his efforts and they tie up, then Dower again tries his left and right but Bollaert is well covered up. SV crowd. SV Bollaert again tries his wild hooking, Dower stops him with a clip to the jaw. They tie up, disengage when Dower lands a left and right to Bollaert’s head. Bollaert replies with a wild counter attack which Dower easily avoids. They tie up again. SV Dower knocks Bollaert down. SV referee sends Dower to neutral corner and starts to count. SV Bollaert. They resume and Dower sails in. SV Dower trying hard to land the knockout but Bollaert covers up well and stays out of trouble. SV they disengage and Dower clashes Bollaert over to the near corner. SV Dower pressing attack without much success. Bell
