This is the primary sleeping car for overnight trains in the Eastern United States, the Viewliner offers various rooms to travel across the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast. We give you a tour of a Viewliner sleeping car and a roomette, the smallest, most economic sleeping compartment on these cars. We took the Silver Star from Jacksonville, FL to Washington, DC. the Amtrak Silver Star however, goes from Miami, Fl to New York City, NY and allows passengers off and on along the way. Coming from Miami, the last stop that allows passengers to get off the train for the ride is Washington DC’s Union Station. We also give a tour of coach class. The coach space is roomy with lots of overhead space for smaller carry-on bags. A row consists of four seats, two on each side, split by the aisle. The over-sized seats recline and a leg rest can also be raised. There is also a foot rest on the back of the seat in front. Like an airplane, there is a tray that can be dropped down. Tips for Roomet
