RAYNE, jakohitsdifferent - bad! (Official Music Video)

With this project, RAYNE aims to depict the alienation and loneliness felt in being treated badly and without respect. The song ’bad!’ references emotions of being taken advantage of. The inspiration behind this music video was found through analysing fem presenting lead roles in sci-fi films. In these movies the characters experience themes of isolation and feeling out of place in their surroundings, all craving a sense of belonging. These emotions tie into the essence of the track created by RAYNE & producer jakohitsdifferent. An important change of narrative found in this music video is that unlike these films, RAYNE frees herself from her experience and pain. Not requiring a masc presenting character to aid in her peace. With the help of visual references such as ’The Fifth Element’, ’To The Stars By Hard Ways’, and ’Ghost In The Shell’, the team births an eerie and contemporary visual take on an alien out of place.
