ZHILEI ZHANG (CHINA) vs JOE JOYCE (UK) TKO FIGHT!

So guys, the first fight between Zhilei Zhang and Joe Joyce took place on April 15, 2023, at the Copper Box Arena in London, England. This heavyweight bout was highly anticipated, as both fighters were Olympians, known for their power and, at the time, very dangerous. You could see the difference in their styles. Joyce was heavily focused on attacking in volume, using a mixture of heavy and light punches but not powerful ones. Defense was questionable, as there was no answer for Zhang’s backhand. Zhang was more conservative with his punches, very crafty with his backhand, and utilized a really tight defense. Now, regarding his backhand, one of the things I like about Zhang is how he rocks his weight back and forth across his feet. This allows him to surprise his opponent with a backhand while Joyce focuses on his lead hand. Also, if he rocks into range and Joyce attempts an attack, Zhang often shifts his weight back and unleashes his backhand counter. Zhang is a very deceptive-looking Knockout artist Guys, you have to understand that Zhang has more of a reason now to finish his fights early due to his age, but throughout his career, it’s fascinating to know that he has achieved 12 first-round Knockouts in his 27 wins. I think the highest recorded first-round KOs in a career are by a boxer named Peter Maher. I believe he achieved 50 KOs. whoever knows the accurate amount, please leave the number within the comments. But back to Mr Zhang. I think he is extremely dangerous early on, but as the fight progresses, I have seen him taking his foot off the pedal, and it’s no doubt due to his age; he’s in his 40s at the moment. In his last 2 fights that went the distance, those were the fights he lost on points. You could see the drop in activity but in both those fights he still made his opponents respect his power.
