135028 / 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport

For more information on this vehicle visit If you’re searching for some old school Detroit metal that wraps great performance in classic good looks, you’re looking at your next muscle car! BODYWORK/TRIM Fresh out of a professional rotisserie restoration, this Chevy’s solid body is an excellent combination of original and replacement panels. That restoration began with a fully stripped fuselage, which was supplemented with fresh quarters, new floorpans and fresh trunk pans. With those pieces welded up and tightly fitted, a glossy coat of Tuxedo Black 2-stage was worked into a wet-look shine. And Super Sport-specific trim, a blacked-out grille, a blacked-out valance, a silver bumper filler, a louvered hood, ribbed rocker guards and bright ornamentation, was installed during the body’s meticulous finishing. ENGINE Peer in to the car’s Satin Black engine bay and you’ll find 396 cubic inches of date-correct big block that’s been bored .040 over and professionally rebuilt by Larry’s Automotive of Danielson, Connecticut. Oxygen and dinosaurs enter the combustion chambers through a *fnTURBO-JET*fn branded air cleaner, tagged stainless fluid lines and a proven Rochester carburetor. Below that carburetor, a cast iron intake feeds resurfaced heads, which wear painted and decaled valve covers. Below those valve covers, solid lifters bump a solid lifter cam. At the back of that cam, a rebuilt points distributor shoots spark through eight Packard TV R Suppression cables. Below those cables, cast iron exhaust manifolds maintain performance while creating deep, lust worthy acoustics. And in front of those manifolds, a beefy radiator pipes coolant through GM-branded hoses and reproduction tower clamps. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION That storied mill twists torque to a proven Muncie 4-speed, which is equipped with a reliable Hurst shifter linkage. That Muncie is hooked to a correct 12-bolt rear end, which spins a posi-traction differential around correct gears. Under that drivetrain, a double A-arm front and rear coil suspension employs dual sway bars and new bushings. Stops are provided by standard drum brakes. And, at the corners of the car, 14-inch steelies spin F70-14 Firestone Wide Oval Super Sport redlines around stainless, bowtie-branded center caps. INTERIOR This Chevelle’s careful restoration included the installation of a fresh vinyl interior. Super Sport trim abounds, with rebuilt bucket seats framing a stainless-trimmed console. That console centers an ornate clock between Jet Black carpet and a simple chrome shifter. And in front of the driver, a *fnCHEVELLE*fn branded steering wheel spins around optional Special Instrumentation. Rotisserie restored and ready to roll, this cool Chevrolet is a top-notch classic that’s poised for years of fun and miles of cruising. Call, click or visit for more information.
