The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) announced that four YF-100K engines have successfully passed the ignition test, marking a significant milestone in the Long March rocket program. This breakthrough means that the engines are now ready for flight tests, showcasing China’s advancements in space technology. These tests were conducted at the Tongchuan Test Centre in Shaanxi province and demonstrated a combined thrust of over 500 tonnes. This power and reliability were crucial for the engines’ compatibility and performance Chief designer Li Bin, from the Academy of Aerospace Propulsion Technology in Xian, confirmed that the engines’ compatibility and individual reliability were fully verified during the test.
