The Producer, Norodom Sihanouk ( regular script ; 31 October 1922 – 15 October 2012) was the King of Cambodia from 1941 to 1955 and again from 1993 until his semi-retirement and voluntary abdication on 7 October 2004. Since his abdication, he became known as The King-Father of Cambodia (Khmer: Preahmâhaviraksat). He is the father of his successor and present king, Norodom Sihamoni, as well as former First Prime Minister Norodom Ranariddh. in the 1950s, and many films were being screened in theaters throughout the country by the 1960s, which are regarded as the “golden age“. After a near-disappearance during the Khmer Rouge regime, competition from video and television has meant that the Cambodian film industry is a small one.
