Nairobi’s informal settlements flooded following days of heavy rains

Hundreds of residents of Kamulu, Acacia and Ruiru By Pass areas in Nairobi county are tonight counting losses after floods disrupted their businesses, school and their farms in what they term as a perennial problem whenever it rains. A spotcheck by Citizen TV in the affected areas found out that encroachment on river banks, lack of a proper drainage system and bridges is the main cause of flooding.
