🌀🇮🇳 Cyclone Biparjoy: Gujarat’s Worst Nightmare Hits India Today June 15 2023

Cyclone Biparjoy made landfall in Gujarat’s Saurashtra in India on June 15th 2023, affecting primarily the Saurashtra and Kutch regions of the state. The cyclone’s eye has a diameter of about 50 km and brought intensified wind speeds across Gujarat. The Indian Meteorological Department has indicated that the period till midnight will be very crucial and the cyclone will continue till then. With the landfall of the cyclone, there has been heavy rainfall and strong winds, causing several trees to be uprooted in Gujarat’s Dwarka district. IMD has predicted that wind speed can go up to 175 kmph and can cause “structural and large-scale damage, including the uprooting of trees and electricity poles”. The authorities have taken several measures to handle the situation. The Indian Coast Guard has kept around 15 ships and 7 aircraft on standby and will deploy them if necessary. Six National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams evacuated over 72 civilians from a low-lying area in Dwarka and relo
