Italian Pageant In Liverpool! (1960)

M/S of a group of Italians in brightly coloured traditional 13th Century costumes walking down the steps outside what looks to me like the town hall in Liverpool, Merseyside; some men at the rear are waving large flags about. There are a few locals wearing, in contrast, drab, grey, English winter clothes! C/U of some of the men waving the flags; commentator tells us “these men are flag jugglers of the famous ’Giostra del Saracimo’ still held every year at Arezzo in Italy“. The costumes are amazing, in reds, golds, greens and blues with embroidery; some have long droopy hoods.
