Apollo-Soyuz Test Project Facts, Part C (1975)

The Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) was the first human spaceflight mission conducted jointly by two nations. A Russian Soyuz launched on July 15, 1975, followed by the U.S. Apollo launch on the same day. The two craft docked on July 17, and joint operations were conducted for two full days. Both spacecraft landed safely and on schedule. While scientific experiments were perfomred by the ASTP astronauts, the mission was largely symbolic and was viewed as a fitting end to the Space Race. Part C contains raw footage from the mission. To help with the A/V Geeks mission to share these forgotten films unearthed in their archive, this film and hundreds of others can be purchased on DVD (). Higher quality versions of this film can also be licensed for stock footage. Contact footage@ for more information.
