China’s HTS Maglev Engineering Prototype

Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) and CRRC Tangshan Co., Ltd revealed the “world’s first high-temperature superconducting high-speed maglev engineering prototype” in Chengdu, Sichuan, China, on 13 January 2021. The design speed of the train is above 600 km/h. Combined with vacuum tube technology, the HTS Maglev train could reach a speed of 1000 km/hour.
