ah yes when a captain is so awful that his crew sings a shanty about him their whole lives and hE kNOwS For anyone that was at the TDP Watch Party, you knew ahead of time before the official TDP soundtrack dropped that the sea shanty would not be in it and that there is a full version that even the writer, Devon Giehl, is unsure when or if it can ever be released. You also knew that she tried to get an original tune for the Mushroom Mage but got struck down for just the sea shanty sadly. 🏴‍☠️🦀🦐🐟 I was waiting for the TDP regulars to do it but after a while, decided to just put it together myself. 😖 I also realized another version was uploaded after I started editing and while I like that, I wanted to include the depressing singing because this is a shanty about his life and it’s not a happy one. I tried to use different parts of the singing in the episode to overlay the ocean sounds in the beginning but it sounded bad so just focused on making some parts louder or softer when needed and balancing out the volume levels with the rest of the lyrics. And also changed out some of the episode credits to fit the theme. Convenient that this season released so close to when I’m on a cruise which I am forever thankful for.
