Zakarrias – Zakarrias 1971 (UK, Psychedelic/Folk Rock) Full Album

The only album of an English project created by the Austrian singer and composer Robert Haumer, nicknamed “Zakarrias”. The album was recorded in the summer of 1971 in London at Deram Records. However, the album was withdrawn from sale once it became known that Haumer did not have a work permit and was therefore forced to return to Austria. It is not known for certain whether this was a group or a solo project of the mysterious multi-instrumentalist. Special thanks on the cover of the record to the accompanying musicians indicate that, rather, it was a solo album. Among the accompanists, it is worth noting the work of saxophonist Geoff Leigh (later collaborated with “Quiet Sun”, “Henry Cow”), keyboardist and founder of the legendary art-rock band “Quatermass” Peter Robinson, as well as drummer Martin Harrison. The album of the same name included quite diverse material. All compositions demonstrated an unusual mixture of hard rock, blues, psychedelia and folk. Various arrangements, romantic lyrics and childish naivety of the manner of performance make this work at least worthy of attention. Tracks: 01. Country Out Of Reach - 00:00 02.
