On May 3rd, 2016, a group of people from the Dent Conference () were invited to visit Aquarius Station - the world’s only undersea research laboratory.
Located about an hour off the coast of the Florida Keys, and about 55 feet underwater, Aquarius is used by NASA for astronaut training missions, and by many other scientists for oceanography and reef research.
Someone happened to have an extra GoPro, so I grabbed it and made this video.
There were two groups that each did two dives. Our group explored the outside of Aquarius first, and then entered the station on our second dive. Unfortunately, my phone didn’t make it into the dry pot, so I couldn’t take any video inside (I couldn’t keep the GoPro out of the water for more than a few seconds, otherwise I’d risk it exploding on ascent from pressure.).
Thank you to Aquarius Station () and for making this possible!
