I have been working on a terrain workflow in Houdini 18 for my shortfilm, I have a lot of huge landscape to generate with very little resources. So it was important for me to find way to optimize the creative process while maintaining production quality.
In this 4th part we start getting into the look development and lighting of this project. I am here sharing my process to set up a lighting for large scale environment and create effects such as fog and some kind of atmospheric perspective using Houdini’s render engine : Mantra.
