Synthetic Sabre Sparring

These are the Purpleheart Armoury “Polish“ sabres, the first sabres we ever got, like 4 years ago. They’re not overly heavy but the weight distribution, and balance with light pommel, make them want to cut and swing. It’s more effort to stop and start them compared to what we usually use. We only practice British military sabre so it was interesting seeing how our combat and form changed based on weapon context. It had some features that are more prominent in the cross cutting styles of Ottoman, Polish, and Hungarian. This sabre may also represent some British Cavalry sabres too. And although these may look similar to the Black fencer Synthetic sabres, they do not feel at all similar. The BF ones feel significantly lighter and easier to move.
