Farafina Kan The Rise of a New Era: Djagbe & Kwe-fila
Here is a clip from our show on December 29th, 2023 at the Arc Theater. In this clip, we play the rhythm Djagbe and transition into a newly composed rhythm called Kwe-fila.
Djagbe is originally played to celebrate the end of Ramadan in Mande culture. The song we sing during this piece is sung to greet the drummers who bring life to the city.
Enjoy!
