Crystal Whispers (For Chick Corea) - Daniel Volovets

An original composition dedicated to the recently departed Chick Corea, one of the great modern jazz pianists and composers. The name of this piece is a reference to one of his more famous pieces, “Crystal Silence.“ My brother and I were lucky enough to meet him after his performance with Gary Burton at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis, MN, and I’ll never forget how he greeted us -- “my flamenco brothers!“ Thank you for the music, Chick. Performed on a custom-made Stephen Kakos 2011 classical/flamenco hybrid guitar using an altered tuning (sixth string = C#, fifth string = F#, third string = F#).
