Slum Walk in Pook Malinis. Pook Malinis is a small community in Baragany UP Campus, Quezon City Philippines. The area is part of the UP community, which is set to face demolition under the implementation of the UP Master Development Plan (MDP). As far as I know, there have already been homes demolished with random visits to the community to rid of more homes. Now don’t get me wrong, I do not support squatting, but I do not understand how a community can build itself to this point without the government doing anything about it to stop it from growing. I see this happen all the time, and I know it’s been happening for years, hence the many slum in the Philippines. It’s like giving people hope, and then taking it away from them when you once said yes, just doesn’t make sense. There should be a program implemented and maintained so that this doesn’t ever happen.
