Jordan BURROUGHS (USA) won two consecutive periods (1-0), 1-0) against Sadegh GOUDARZI (IRI) and bagged the 74kg London Olympic gold medal.
In the opening frame, Burroughs’ third double-leg was the charm. After a pair of failed attempts, he blasted through his Iranian opponent with his signature double leg and won the period, 1-0. In the second period, the American went back to what worked earlier in the match – his double leg. Burroughs came up in the clutch, scoring the period-winning takedown with 11 seconds left to stop Iran from winning a fourth London Olympic title and reach the top of the Olympic podium.
